At Spring Smiles, we understand that oral health is a direct indicator of whole-body health and function. Our conservative, gentle philosophy is to help patients identify and correct oral health risks before they become larger issues. We are proud to partner with our patients to encourage positive oral hygiene habits and educate our community about dental health. We do this because we truly believe in the life-changing power of a healthy, confident smile.
As a child, Dr. Duncan was terrified of the dentist. It wasn’t until the age of 13 that an accident with a hammer prompted the need for an emergency dental visit. The care and skill his dentist displayed that day slowly began to change Dr. Duncan’s perception of dentistry. Many years later when he was considering dental school, he went back and shadowed the very dentist who had helped him, and it was at that visit It was then that he decided this was his life’s work. Dr. Duncan cares about his patients and applies the same level of care to them as his dentist did for him years ago. His goal is to build relationships, relieve discomfort, and prevent large dental problems by fixing them while they are still small.
A self-described “education junkie”, Dr. Duncan is constantly learning and improving ways to provide the most advanced and quality dentistry to his patients in the most gentle and conservative way. Dr. Duncan is always adding to his dental knowledge so that he can provide the best care possible. He believes in in utilizing the latest advancements in education and technology, such as low-radiation Cone Beam 3D technology to bring the best in prevention and treatment to his patients.
Dr. Duncan is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, having successfully completed the Fellowship Exam in 2018. He is also an active member of Spear Education, IAOMT, CEREC doctors, and the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists). Dr. Duncan is grateful to be able to provide a full range of services, including Invisalign, Myo Munchee and Myobrace to patients of all ages.
Dr. Gabriel Duncan earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 2012. While there he was honored to travel to Eastern Europe as a student-dentist as well as volunteer at the local SHAC clinic and the North Carolina Missions of Mercy Dental clinic. He was also a member of Delta Sigma Delta honor society. While serving in the orphanages of Moldova he had the privilege to provide dental treatment to the children with no access to dental care. He counts this as one of the most rewarding and life-changing experiences he’s ever had.
